Senator CHUCK SCHUMER (D-NY) looks over notes as members of the Senate Judiciary Committee discuss the "Respect for Marriage Act," legislation which would repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). DOMA is the Clinton-era law that defined marriage between a man and a woman. The Committee voted 10-8 along party lines in favor for the Respect for Marriage Act.
