Searching for Dream Street - Clairton
Clairton Mayor, Richard Lattanzi, walks through Lincoln Way, an abandoned 52-lot street on the edge of town. Lincoln Way was known to be a nice neighborhood back in Clairton's heyday.
When the Clairton Coke Works employed 5,000 workers and ran three shifts, Clairton had three movie theaters and four car dealerships. Now the plant employs 1,300 workers and residents must drive five miles out of town to buy food since there is no longer a grocery store in town.
